Oakland Women Business Leaders Conference

On Friday, March 24th , Councilmember Jane Brunner and City Administrator Deborah Edgerly co-hosted the first Oakland Women Business Leaders Conference at City Hall. Over 200 people attended and participated in four different panel presentations, which consisted of: Doing Business in Oakland, How to Expand Your Business, Finding Funding, Financing and Business Loans, and Getting the Greatest Value from Chamber Membership. OBDC is proud to have been a part of the event, where Managing Director Megan Himan was a panelist.

The event was also a great opportunity for women interested in business growth and development to network and make connections not only with the panelists but also other entrepreneurs working here in Oakland and the Bay Area. The Conference was a great success, and evaluations by attendees were overwhelmingly positive. With all the positive feedback the Oakland Women Business Leaders Conference may become an annual event!
